Transcendental meditation

Sir,—Your correspondent Anthony Le Cren (March 6) demonstrates the narrow-minded outlook of many of the Christian faith. By saying that practising transcendental meditation is to become a Hindu and therefore worship demons, he exposes himself as having a total disregard for other people’s religious persuasions. The Lord Buddha told his followers that all men and all religions were but fruits of the one tree, and even Christ himself said: “Other sheep I have which are not bf this fold, them also I must bring and they shall hear my voice” (John, x, 16). Again Christ spoke of: “The true light which lighteth every man who cometh into the world” (John, i, 9). Whether a man practises one religion or another matters not as all paths lead to the same goal. Maybe with a little understanding, Mr Le Cren will realise that even he too will be accepted unto heaven. — Yours, etc., D. DAWSON. March 6, 1984.
