Aged water found in rock
NZPA-AP Moscow Scientists had found a drop of water they estimated to be 50 million years old and hoped that study of its content would yield additional data about those ancient times, said Radio Moscow.
The radio station said that a drop of water was
“conserved in a small prism of rock crystal found by geologists” in the Pamir Mountains in Central Asia.
The age of the water, estimated at 50 million years, was determined by evaluating the age of the crystal, it said. It gave no further information about the find in its English-lan-guage report.
