Sting in tale of house
PA Masterton Residents of an old house in Eketahuna created more of a stir than they bargined for when they tried to smoke bees out of a hive in their house — the house caught fire. A volunteer fireman, Mr Alan Boyles, said the Fire Service was called out after rubbish and a birds’ nest inside the wall of the house ignited.
Mr Boyles said the hive was still there when the fire brigade left and, to add insult to injury, two of the residents had been stung.
