Luke’s first catch
PA Auckland* Luke, a police dog hit by a shotgun blast in Auckland in October, had immediate success last evening when he and his handler, Constable J. R. Donald, returned to night shift. The pair tracked two youths, who allegedly tried to steal a ear at Bucklands Beach.
It was Luke’s first “catch” since returning to active duty this week. The police arrested a third youth in connection with the incident. The trio will appear in the District Court at Otahuhu today charged with unlawfully taking a motor vehicle. • .
