PA Hamilton An Auckland trade unionist, Mr Tony Allen, aged 29, will contest Waipa for the Labour Party at the next General Election, announced the party’s regional council chairman, Ms Paul Singh. The seat is held by National’s Ms Marilyn Waring, who has said she will

not stand again. Mr Allen is a full-time delegate for the Shop Employees’ Union. A post-primary teacher, Ms Linda Holmes, of Hamilton, was named by Ms Singh as Labour’s candidate for the new Raglan seat. The two choices complete Labour’s choice of eight .candidates for its Waikato division.
