Government Life Election • of A Director by Policyholders Call for Nominations Government Life became a Corporation on 1 October 1983. Section 3 (3) (b) of the Government Life Insurance Corporation Act 1983 provides for one director of the Corporation to be elected by policyholders. The procedures for the nominations and election of the policyholder representative are set out in the Government Life Insurance Corporation Election Order 1983 (SR 1983/291) which is available from the Government Printer. , In terms of these procedures, nominations are called tor the position of elected director. Who is eligible? , To be eligible a person has to be a policyholder and a least 18 years of age but is disqualified if an employee agent of the Corporation, an employee, agent or professional associate of any other life office, a Mem of Parliament or an undischarged bankrupt. Nomination ~ , . Candidates need to be nominated by two policyholders who are at least 18 years of age and to forward the following information with their nomination. (a) Full name and date of birth. (b) Usual residential address. (c) Professional and business occupations (if any). (d) A statement not exceeding 50 words for inclusion in publk• advertisements should an election be required.
