Brackenfield Hunt celebrations
The Brackenfield Hunt Club will celebrate its centenary from July 23 to 28. Meets of the hunt will be held on the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. A hound show and a luncheon will be held on the Thursday and a ball will be held on the Friday evening. The celebrations will end with a day at the Christchurch Hunt Club race meeting at Riccarton on the Saturday. A panel of six people is preparing a 144-page history
of the club, including about 70 photographs. The panel includes three sisters, Mesdames Angus Macdonald (West Eyreton), Shona Mcßae (Glens of Tekoa), and Barbara Deans (Amberley). The other three members are Mesdames Monica Rutherford (Amberley), Rosemary -Ensor (Hanmer Springs), and Dr Peter Meredith (Christchurch). The book will be titled '‘Brackenfield — a Family Hunt”
