Butter, cheese ‘must go up’
PA Wellington The domestic price of butter and cheese must increase, said the chairman of the Dairy Board, Mr Jim Graham, in a radio interview yesterday. He was speaking after his address to the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company ward conference In Hamilton, during which he
called the outlook for the dairy industry “terrible.” Mr Graham predicted a 5 per cent increase, the radio report said. He told the conference that the board could not avoid a deficit which, in the absence of a level of national support, would soon exhaust the board’s savings. Earlier report, page 2.
