N.Z.C.S. seminar
Two one-day seminars are to be held soon by the Computer Society for Christchurch people.
On March 21 there will be a seminar titled “Tomorrow’s Office: Current and Future Trends in Office Automation” held at the Park Hotel (formerly the Avon Park Motor Hotel). The presenter will be Dr Mark Apperley, a senior lecturer from the University of Waikato. The cost of attending the seminar will be $llO for members of the members.
Dr Apperley’s seminar is the first in a new programme of national continuing education by the society. A full-time director is organising the programme,
which aims to present a number of professionally organised seminars each year around the country. On April 12, the Canterbury branch of the society is organising a seminar aimed at helping larger companies come to grips with /the microcomputer. Titled “Living with Micros; Microcomputer Issues for the Data Processing Professional,” the seminar will be addressed by a number of users and suppliers who have expertise in installing microcomputers in larger organisfaions. The seminar, which will be held at the Commodore Motor Inn, will cost $65 for members and $9O for nonmembers.
