Mr D. O. Walker has become a director of the Auckland-based company, Telephone Marketing International, Ltd, as part of the company’s expansion of operations.
The other directors of the company are the former National member of Parliament for Pakuranga, Mr Gavin Downie, and Mrs Susan Downie.
Mr Walker recently retired as managing director of NJZ. Forest Products, Ltd, but he has retained numerous other business interests.
Mr Walker says the development of telephone marketing in conjunction with computer technology to transfer information will reduce the need for expensive and time-consuming travel by executives and salespeople. Meetings will be more effective as all parties will have up-to-date information immediately at hand, he suggests.
