Socred completes plans
PA Auckland The Social Credit Party at the week-end completed a blueprint for what it says will be an aggressive election campaign. A meeting of the party’s political executive and campaign and fund-raising committees in Auckland put the finishin to its camparty’s president, Mr Stefan Lipa, said the blueprint included a detailed analysis of the type of initiatives and the electorates on which the party
concentrate. He refused to give details, but said Social Credit would obviously pay attention to electorates in which it polled well in the last election. Mr Lipa said a number of divisional conferences would be held before its national conference in Wanganui in August More party members would thus have a chance to participate in the election strateCT. Mr Lipa said the party had $ll5 million in cam-
paign funds, but it hoped to raise $2 million. Social Credit would conduct an aggressive but clean campaign, he said. “Our intention is not to get involved in personality attacks." Asked if any big changes could be expected in the preliminary manifesto, already compiled, Mr Lipa said the final policy the party would take into the election would be determined by the national conferejice.
