Masked men charged
Two armed masked men were arrested in Waltham yesterday afternoon and will appear in the District Court today charged with conspiring to commit an armed hold-up, and other serious charges. The men, both aged 30, who were allegedly riding a stolen motor-cycle, were arrested about 3.30 p.m. The police have taken possession of a sawn-off shotgun and a gas-operated pistol. Detective Inspector R. G. McMeeking declined to say in which street the men were arrested or how the police were alerted. He said that the men would also face charges relating to the possession of the seized firearms, riding a stolen motor-cycle, and wearing a mask by day with the intention to commit a crime.
