Huge selection of stoves and space heaters, plus some newly approved

The Pioneer, the Cavalier and the Schooner are now all approved for use in clean air zones. All are wood-burning stoves and one — the Cavalier — will also bum coal, when fitted with a basket grate. The Pioneer, which has just become an approved

appliance, comes either free-standing or to be fitted within an open fireplace. It also heats enough water for family use.

The Cavalier is designed to radiate the bulk of its heat from the top and front.

It is tiled top and sides, and has side louvres to the heat. A wet-back is optional. The Schooner is compact and takes large logs in its wide firebox. This means less chopping. All the models of the Schooner wood-burning stoves are fitted with an alternative flue opening, allowing three choices of installation and, again, there is the water-heating option.

All three of these appliances are on show at the Heating Centre in Lincoln

Road, as well as the Building Centre.

The Building Centre display shows a wide selection of stoves and space heaters right through the winter months — Belmac, Bosca, Esse, Fisher, Juno, Kent, Masport, Orbit, Stack, Combi, Ferra, Warmrite, Regency and Warmster, to name just some.

There are about three local companies which specialise in the supply of such appliances.
