Cromwell SEA POPPY (Race 8), b f, 3 yrs, by Grand Poppa—Seagrit; trained at Riccarton by B. Mills. Speedster which bolted in over this distance at Wingatui last time out. This field should not present her with any problems.

Ran up a frustrating list of seconds before meeting a check at a vital stage in rich three-year-old company at Addington on February 18. Overdue for a winning turn which should come here. Rotorua SHARVID LOBELL (Race 10), b g, 5 yrs, by Mark Lobell— Rose Tabella; trained at Cambridge by J. Langdon. Won his first two starts impressively this time up and was fast-finishing third at his lone attempt meantime against the milers at Alexandra Park last Friday. Stands out against mediocre rivals. Wellington SHIFNAL PRINCE (Race 7), br h, 4 yrs, by Shifnal—My Jane; trained at Cambridge . by J. E. Winder. Won brilliant double at this . distance at Wellington Cup meeting, beating a stronger field than this in the Jarden Mile. Wyndham MANIAPOTO (Race 1), b g, 4 yrs, by Nardin’s Byrd—Flying Mile; trained at Makarewa by R. Barron. Took no part in his race at Invercargill last Saturday. The mobile despatch should assist him tomorrow and his prospects look bright.
