Bowenvale support
“Emphatic” support for the intended purchase of Bowenvale Valley by the Heathcote County Council has been given by the Summit Road Society. The society had long believed that some form of park or recreational area was needed for the upper
slopes of the Port Hills. The proposed reserve would give the area the “total protection so necessary,” said the president of the society, Mr J. W. Jameson. “Therefore we emphatically support the move to buy the property.”
