Murder charge
PA New Plymouth An Inglewood youth aged 16, was remanded in custody without plea for a week by Judge Dalmer when he appeared in the New Plymouth Children and Young Persons Court on Monday on a charge of murder. The charge arose from the death of another Inglewood youth, Peter John Stockwell, aged 16, on Saturday night. Detective Senior-Sergeant Bruce Ramsay said on Sunday that the youth died after being struck in the chest with a sharp penetrating instrument. The youth was at a birthday party at the time. A post-mortem examination would be made to determine the cause of death, Ramsay said.
