Croquet reunion
The Edgeware Croquet Club recently celebrated its seventy-fifth anniversary with a luncheon at Wilding Park, an afternoon of reminiscing over old minute books and photographs, and by entertaining other clubs at its head-quarters. The president of the Canterbury association, Mr Don Stanton, proposed the toast to Edgeware and the club president, Mrs Edna Papprill, replied. Edgeware was a combined bowling and croquet club when it opened in 1909 and it became an independent body in 1962. The club is holding a special anniversary doubles competition this season.
