Aust. imports up
Australia’s imports rose 9 per cent or $NZ236.6M to $2738.4M last month. The Australian statistician says the major contributors to the over-all rise were imports of machinery (up $109.2M), miscellaneous manufactured articles (up $50.4M), metal manufactures (up $33.6M) and petroleum and petroleum products (up S2BM). Imports of transport equipment fell $131.6M in the month.
