Chad peace force?
NZPA-AP Lagos The French Foreign Minister, Mr Claude Cheysson, said yesterday France would consider an international peace-keeping force in Chad. He said France was prepared to consider the creation of such a force if it would lead to the withdrawal of foreign forces
from the central African nation and encourage talks on resolving the country’s 19-year-long civil war. France will withdraw the 3000 soldiers it has deployed in Chad at the same time as Libyan forces are removed provided that something could be done to keep the fighting from flaring anew, Mr Cheysson said.
