Board sets fruit price
The Apple and Pear Board has set the average price to be paid to growers for fruit bought during the 1983/84 season. The board’s chairman, Mr R. M. Richardson, announced the price for apples as 21.48 c a kilogram and for pears 28.90 c a kilogram. The prices were 7.5 per cent higher than for the previous season but would not affect retail prices in New Zealand, he said.
