Pigeon race results
The Christchurch Pigeon Federation held a race from Ward to Christchurch on Saturday, a distance of 230 km. The birds were released at 9.45 a.m. in fine weather with northerly winds and the first bird home of the 649 entered covered the distance in 3hr 24mins. Results were: West section placings: S. Morris, 1134.580, 1; P. Morgan, 1131.968, 2; L. Whiteside, 1129.553, 3; D. McNeish.
