Memorial service for Sir Keith
PA Wellington A service of thanksgiving for the life and work of a former Governor-General and Prime Minister, Sir Keith Holyoake, will be held on Monday at Westminster Abbey in London. The Prime Minister, Sir Robert Muldoon, will be the Queen’s representative at the service. Sir Keith’s widow, Dame Norma Holyoake, and their son, Mr Roger Holyoake, will also be present. Another former Gover-nor-General, Lord Porritt, will deliver the address, and the lessons will be read by a former British Prime Minister, Lord Home, and by Mr Holyoake. The service will be conducted by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Rev. E. F. Carpenter. The Bishop of Wellington, the Rt Rev. Edward Norman, and a leader of the Maori community in London, Mr Himi Wiremu, will also take part.
