Dalgety’s Aust, profit
NZPA-AAP Sydney Dalgety Farmers, Ltd, has reported a maiden sAust934,ooo profit in the six months to December 31, after the merger of Dalgety Australia, Ltd, Bennetts Farmers, Ltd, and Farmers Co-operative, Ltd, on December 1. The result includes the individual trading results of the three companies for the five months from July 1 last year. The profit was achieved on group sales of ?809.5M. Non-rural activities of the former Dalgety Australia were reported under Dalgety Holdings, Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the British parent, Dalgety, pic, which has a 65 per cent holding in Dalgety Farmers. Dalgety Holdings earned an attributable profit of $2.6M for the period, compared with $138,000 for the previous corresponding period.
