Marshland Road
Sir—Dozens of children are cycling their precarious way to and from school along Marshland Road in conditions worsened by Christmas holiday traffic. Letters to the Waimairi District Council requesting urgent upgrading of the cycleways from Chaneys corner to Briggs Road seem to evoke no response. Perhaps the change of chairman may make a difference, or does it take loss of life to stir the council into action? We do not have buses in this area or a safe roadway. Positive action from the council would be appreciated by all who use the road.—Yours, etc., lAN BROOKLANDS. February 1, 1984.
