Shock for camper
Blenheim reporter A young Wellington woman who camped on the Picton foreshore on Friday night, awoke next morning to find that her money, clothing, and other personal effects valued about $lOOO, had been stolen from outside her tent. The only items so far recovered by
the Picton police have been a cheque book and an “Autobank” card. The items taken, between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Saturday, include a small amount of cash, contact lenses worth $3OO, reading glasses worth $lOO, a handbag, clothing and cosmetics. Camping on the foreshore is prohibited by a Picton Borough Council by-law. Notices to this effect are in the area.
