Ecuador poll
Ecuador appeared to be heading for a run-off contest in May between two top candidates for the Presidency. Early unofficial General Election results indicated that neither looked like winning an outright majority. Leon Febres Cordero Febres was reported to have won 30 per cent against 28.3 per cent for Rodrigo Borja. To prevent a run-off on May 6 one candidate must win more than 50 per cent of the votes. — Quito.
