Ex-Minister held
The former Chilean Treasury and Economic Minister, Rolf Luders, has been arrested on fraud charges. Dr Luders, who held the post from August, 1982, to February, 1983, was charged in a complaint filed by the State Defence Council, a watch-dog body over the nation’s financial interests. The suit charged several executives of Chile’s National Mortgage Bank, including Dr Luders, who served as president of the institution at the same time he was Economy and Treasury Minister, with fraud. — Santiago.
