Aramoana for sale
PA Wellington The Cook Strait rail ferry Aramoana, laid up in Wellington for nearly a year, is for sale.
The Railways Corporation said yesterday the 4344-ton passenger ferry, replaced last month by the Arahura, is on the market.
The Aramoana, built in Scotland nearly 22 years ago, was the first of tne specialised rail ferries built for use between Wellington
and Picton. It was laid up in Wellington in March last year because of little inter-islafd freight
