Attache software popular

By the end of 1983. 500 modules of the Attache series of financial-applica-tion software had been sold in New Zealand, according to the New Zealand distributors, Power Systems, Ltd. Since beginning to market the Australian-written software in March, Power Systems belives it has captured 40 to 50 per cent of the market for financial-appli-cation software on 16-bit microcomputers using the MS-DOS operating system.

The Attache software now sold in New Zealand has undergone a revision of its documentation and packaging, as a result of the release in the United States of Attache.

Documentation and packaging produced in the United States for that market has now become the standard for other countries. The software is delivered in a smart brief case and includes a “Read Me First” manual for the novice user. A sample data disc is provided so that the user can step through the tutorials on his own computer.

Enhancements for the product this year will include a “productivity interface” which will provide interchange of data between Attache and Lotus 1-2-3, Wordstar and Multiplan.

A payroll module and an order entry module will be released early this year. There will be enhancements to all products to allow users to scroll through data in a browsing manner on the screen and display reports on the screen as an alternative to the printer. In New Zealand Attache is sold and supported for the IBM PC, the Panasonic JB--3000, the DEC Rainbow 100, the Wang PC and NEC’s APC. The majority of sales of the software are for use on the IBM Personal Computer.
