Benreoch rig leaves Moki

PA Wellington Drilling at the Moki No. 1 oil exploration well has ended and the Benreoch semi-submersible rig has been released to Diamond Shamrock Oil Company (New Zealand), Ltd, the operators of the well, Tricentrol Exploration Overseas, Ltd, announced yesterday. The Taimana No. 1 well is planned to penetrate 4000 m, Diamond Shamrock said. The primary objective was to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of the Kapuni sandstone formation which was found to be oil bearing in several wells within the Taranaki Basin.
