70 in yacht field
A fleet of at least 70 is expected for the Canterbury trailer yacht championships, to be sailed off Timaru tomorrow and on Sunday. Noeiex 22s and 25s and Farr 6000 s and Farr 7.5 s are expected to make up the bulk of the entries, with five starts required in the fourrace series. Three races are to count towards final placings.
Graham Curtis and Torment could find the form to go close to taking the Noeiex 22 title, but John May,
who will sail Double Dark, is an experienced yachtsman likely to give little 1 away.
However, in the second Noeiex class it is difficult to see anyone beating Bill Todd and Andantino.
Rob McGregor (Blue Movie) and Bob Auton in Izzy appear the two with the best chances of taking the Farr 6000 class, while Tony Lugg, the skipper of Geronimo, is a top contender in the Farr 7.5 class.
