Public Notices TECHNICIAN ENGINEERING STUDIES N.Z. CERTIFICATE OF ENGINEERING (ELECTRICAL' ELECTRONIC OPTIONS) APPLICATIONS are Invited from suitably qualified persons who wish to study towards the four electricallybased options of the N.Z. Certificate of Engineering (new structure). The C.I.T. In 1984 will be conducting a 36 week fulltime course to enable students to complete the first three stages of the five stage programme. A pass In all subjects qualifies for the award of an Intermediate Certificate. The course Is common to the Electrical, Electronics and Computer Technology. Industrial Measurement and Control. and Telecommunications options: no election of option Is necessary until Stage IV studies are undertaken. Entry Qualifications: U.E. with passes In English. Mathematics and Physics. If oversubscribed, selection will be made on the basis ot S.C. and subsequent performance. Course Subjects: Electrotechnology. Electronics. Mathematics 111, Technical Drawing, Workshop Practice. Course dates: February 13-November 16. 1984. Course fees: $2OO. plus $lOO for tool kit (supplied). Tertiary assistance grants are available to eligible students. Accommodation: Allocated on a quota basis Is to be available In the Halls of Residence. Subsequent stages: To progress to Stage IV a student Is required to have one year's related work experience in appropriate full-time employment, and to Stage V a total ot two years experience. It Is the student’s responsibility to gain such employment. The C.I.T. will assist In the placement ot Stage 111 graduates In industry, but no undertaking can be given.
