Moody again successful in race
Clive Moody’s Papanui loft has produced the winner of the prestigious old bird pigeon race for the second time. The Christchurch Pigeon Association switched the start from Hamilton to Gisborne this year, and the new course to Christchurch provided favourable conditions. Of the 184 pigeons released, 93 were timed on the day. The winning bird winged south at 41.5 m.p.h. over 445
miles. Mr Moody, a Papanui doctor, also had the sixteenth and thirty-first place-getters. Results:— C. Moody, 1094.439, 1; D. McNiesh, 1093.789, 2; P. and L. Cook, 1093.123, 3; T. and J.
