Sharp run by La Bonita
Special correspondent Dunedin La Bonita looked in excellent order for Tapanui when she worked at Wingatui on Thursday morning. La Bonita was shaded by Supremity at the finish of 1000 m on the plough in Imin 2.95, the last 800 m in 50.45, but she carried on quietly for another round. Supremity hit out keenly when worked in blinkers. She has been jarring up and
showing a reluctance to gallop freely. She had the advantage of a track deadened by overnight rain. Blue Mountain shaped well when running 800 m with Cool Gold in 50.45. King Kaka and Leisure Lass returned 51s; Zannee and Warning Note were clear of Relay in 51.55. Paddle and Weston Pride covered 1000 m in Imin 3.95, the last 800 m in 51.65. n. Rei Kumai did best oirthe
firm inside grass when she clocked 49.5 s for 800 m, the last 600 m in 36.75. Double Chivas and Imperial Oaks sprinted 600 m in 37.65; Pinafore took 37.85. Scorcher and Irish Note ran 1000 m in Imin 3s, the last 800 m in 51s. Jim Collett will now ride Lord Killarney, the likely favourite for the Second Heriot Maiden at Tapanui. He has switched from Miss Randwick.
