Actor has kidney operation
NZPA-AP London The actor, Lord Olivier, aged 76, underwent a twohour kidney operation yesterday and was in a stable condition at London’s St Thomas Hospital, his agent said.
“I suppose any operation on the kidney and on a man of his age is a major one,” said Lord Olivier’s agent, Laurence Evans, “but we’re very optimistic. The operation was successful.” Lord Olivier was admitted to hospital a week ago. In October, Lord Olivier finished filming for the British television version of John Fowles’s novel, “The Ebony Tower.” “He is just about to start work on another book, one on acting and acting techniques,” said Mr Evans.
