Shell Oil team wins business game
For the second time in two years a team from Shell Oil has won the national final of the International Computers busi-ness-management game, held in Wellington during the last two years.
The team of Mr A. Rahim
Khan and Mr Aidan Johnstone won the game with a total accumulated profit of $6,850,980 and a margin over the second team from GUS Wholesalers, Ltd, of Christchurch, of $368,000. Third place went to a
team from Newmans Coachlines, with a profit of $4.99M, fourth to the Auckland team of Rohm and Haas ($4.92M), and fifth to the NZ Refinery team from
Marsden Point ($3.62M). The Shell team, a different one from that which was victorious last year, having lost the first round of the national game back
in May, was eligible to enter a plate competition. It won this, and became the fifth team to enter the national final. As winners, Mr Khan and Mr Johnstone received a cheque for $3OOO from ICL. The GUS Wholesalers team received $1250. The Newmans Coachlines team won $750 and the fourth and fifth placed Rohm and Haas and NZ Refinery teams each received $5OO.
