The Nares will play at the Zanzibar, Lion Tavern, this evening as part of their national “Whistle While You Work” tour to help promote the live Mainstreet album that they recorded with Coconut Rough.
Tomorrow and on Saturday The Nares will play at the Hillsborough Tavern. The show also features the Street Level Dance Crew, and Peter Rowley, who doubles as a comedian and master of ceremonies. Rowley is originally from Christchurch and worked with the Court Theatre for two years.
The show will give Christchurch fans the first chance to see Liam Ryan (keyboards) as a permanent member of The Nares. He had helped the band on tour earlier this year. The band recently signed a publishing deal with CBS Songs (formerly April
Music) in Sydney, which has helped the songwriting of the members. But the recording of a studio album, originally scheduled last month, has been postponed until early next year because the Nares have been unable to secure a “name” producer. The Nares (above) from left, are Liam Ryan (keyboards), Andy Dickson (guitar), Tony Waine (bass), and Steve Clarkson (drums).
