A 338-hectare cropping, grazing and fattening unit in Greendale was passed in at auction on October 19 for $650,000.
The property includes a brick homestead, a cottage, and a full range of outbuildings. It has a 1979 Government valuation of $492,700.
The auctioneer was Mr C. Hooper of Pyne, Gould, Guinness Real Estate, Ltd.
A three-bedroom house with a large tradesman’s garage on an 80-perch commercially zoned section in Woodend was passed in at auction on October 18 for $84,000.
The property includes almost an acre of residential land at the rear and was advertised as ideal for a fruit and produce outlet. It fronts the main road.
The auctioneer, Mr Peter Cook of W. E. Simes and Company, Ltd, said that only 10 persons attended the auction. The GV (1983) is $63,000.
A two-storey historic homestead at 105 Walnut Avenue, Ashburton, was passed in at auction on October 19 for $93,000. Built of treble brick, it has a panelled entry hall, oak doors and a sweeping staircase and includes a drawing room, a study, a living-room, a din-ing-room, six bedrooms and two bathrooms with a sun gallery. It sits on a 1713 sq m section with a glasshouse and garaging lor four cars. The auctioneer was Mr Robert Brown, of Robert Brown Real Estate.
