Five New Zealand stamps depicting fruit, which will be issued on December 7. The stamps feature grapes (10c), citrus fruit (20c), stone fruit (30c), pip fruit (40c), and kiwifruit (50c). They were designed by Don Little, of Auckland, and were printed in Australia by Leigh-Mardon Pty, Ltd, using the lithography process. A first-day cover, also designed by Mr Little, can be ordered at local post offices and the Philatelic Bureau, Private Bag, Wanganui, until December 7. The stamps mark the increasing importance of horticulture to the New Zealand economy.
