Coringa golf champion
The Canterbury Freyberg No. 1, Brent Paterson, overwhelmed his Woodward Cup team-mate, John CrawfordSmith, in the final of the Coringa club’s senior golf championship. Paterson was two-under par when he beat Crawford-Smith, 10 and 9.
David Newburn beat Glen Donovan, 7 and 6, in the intermediate final, and in the junior championships, Bruce Morgan beat Gordon Edwards in the A section and John Adams accounted ; for Bill Hildyard in the B section.
