Natural Guy in tonight

NZPA Sydney Natural Guy, an expensive New Zealand purchase, returns to racing at Harold Park in a mobile 1960 m event this evening in preparation for the rich three-year-old classics. The nuggety three-year-old son of Nat Lobell was bought by the prominent Sydney owner, Greg Brodie, after he won the Sapling Stakes at Ashburton on June 3.

In his only two Australian starts Natural Guy finished second to Jayare’s Dream in the Waratah Stakes heat and then battled on for a good fourth in the final of that event won by Goodbye Jinks at Harold Park on July 22. His trainer, Lou Cini, said that Natural Guy’s preparation was a bit rushed to have him ready for that race so soon after arriving in Australia and he decided to spell the colt after the Waratah Stakes.
