Review of penalty due today
Gavin Hampton’s request for a review of the penalty imposed on him at the Greymouth Trotting Club’s meeting on Monday will be considered this morning by the emergency committee of the executive of the Trotting Conference. Hampton, the driver of Paddington Bear, was suspended until after racing on October 22, and the horse was disqualified from the race after finishing first. If Hampton’s penalty is remitted he will drive Kind Nature, Lucky Boy and Naval Officer at Addington Raceway this evening. Should he be unsuccessful, Kind Nature will be driven by Michael Donovan, while Henry Skinner will make a rush trip from Invercargill to drive the other two horses.
