Christchurch Polytechnic tutors and other staff have strongly criticised the proposals to change the method of State servants’ payfixing. At a special meeting on Wednesday about 130 members of the Association of Tutors in Technical Institutes and the Technical Institutes Allied Staff Association voted unanimously to write to the Prime Minister, Mr Muldoon, and members of Parliament, deploring the changes to the State Services Conditions of Employment Act An amending bill is at present with a Parliamentary select committee.
