Police thanked
Sir, — I wish to express my gratitude to the Christchurch Police Force. My 75-year-old mother was the victim of a vicious, cowardly, attempted rape, by a 15-year-old lad one day last July. To my shame I have not written our sincere thanks before but we have all been under a great deal of stress. My mother can no longer bear to live in her house — the home she moved into, to be near her only child just nine months ago — so we have had all the hassle of selling it etc. The police were so kind, and also very prompt in answering the distress call.
