Royal plane hits trouble
NZPA-Reuter Hong Kong A plane carrying the Duke of Edinburgh to Bangkok had to return to Hong Kong yesterday after it developed cabin pressure problems over the South China Sea, said a Civil Aviation spokesman. The aircraft, an Andover turbo-prop of the Queen’s Flight, developed trouble about 35 minutes after it had left Hong Kong airport when it was 100 nautical miles on its way towards Thailand.
The spokesman said that Royal Air Force mechanics in Hong Kong fixed the aircraft in a few minutes and it later left for Bangkok about 2% hours behind schedule.
