Tirana to be rested
The promising three-year-old, Tirana, a first acceptor for next month’s Two Thousand Guineas, will miss important spring engagements as the result of a bone chip in a foreleg. An easy winner at the Motukarara trials on Sunday, the Balios colt was found to be lame by his Balcairn trainer, John Parsons, on Monday. It is intended to operate on the leg later in the week and according to Parsons the colt will be out of action for at least three months-
