Mr Carter’s sister dies of cancer

Fayetteville, North Carolina Ruth Carter Stapleton, sister of the former United States President, Jimmy Carter, has died at Cape Fear Valley Hospital after a long battle with cancer of. the pancreas, hospital officials said. She was 53. Mrs Stapleton, an evangelist from Fayetteville, had said she would forgo medical treatment and would rely on her faith in God to help her. She was diagnosed as having cancer in April She had said she would use prayer, meditation, exercise, and a special diet in her fight against the disease.
