A television cameraman, Jeremy Pollard, of Auckland, is shown rescuing a ewe trapped in mud near Rapaki, five kilometres from Lyttelton, yesterday. The ewe was at the bottom of a slip that had washed out the road between Rapaki and Governor’s Bay. A temporary by-pass has been opened to single-lane traffic.
