Abortion clinic’s name
Sir,—l share the doubts of other correspondents who criticise the proposed name Hillgrove Clinic. I have already heard it referred to jocularly as “Killgrove Clinic”. — hardly a reassuring concept for impressionable teenagers who may be referred there for treatment. I hope Mrs L. C. Gardiner will consider using a different name, which cannot be turned into a sour joke—Yours, etc., LORNA ANKER. September 20, 1983.
Sir, — The correspondents’ objections to the inappropriate naming of the abortion clinic, ponder the reflection that it should be
named Limbo Lodge — a region on the border of hell, the abode of the just who died before the coming of Christ and of the unbaptised; a condition of oblivion or neglect. — Yours, etc., M. E. MYERS. September 19, 1983.
