It is now four years since the celebrated Moscow-born husband and wife ballet stars, Valentina and Leonid Koslov, defected to the West, while appearing with the Bolshoi Ballet in Los Angeles. The couple were adopted by the New York City Bal-
let, with whom they are now principal dancers. Leonid, aged 35, and Valentina, aged 28, who have made their home in New Jersey, performed recently in a London’s Covent Garden. After a European tour they will return to the United States for a tight
schedule of ballet performances.
Although the Koslovs are obviously thriving in the West, they are worried about their parents in the Soviet Union, with whom they have experienced great difficulties in communication in the last four years.
